It was a BLACK OUT!

Last night, the Carbon Lady Dinos made their first showing at the State Playoffs. It was a tough draw...We were ranked #1 in our region, so we played a #4 seed from one of the toughest regions in the state. So we lined up with Richfield (the previous two years State Champions). Even though they ended up 4th, they were a very good team. It was a game that could go either way.

So Coach Carlson, anticipating this tough match up, requested the Carbon student body to come show their support by wearing black for the game. Our crowd was incredible last night from the band to the cheerleaders to the students and parents...everyone was vital to the atmosphere of the game.

At half-time, the score was extremely close --- 20-19. I'm not sure what happened in their half-time talk, but things picked up after that. We had two pivotal steals towards the end of the 3rd quarter that changed the direction of the game. We ended up winning 50-39. And with that win we get a chance to move forward to State!

There are so many things about this year's team that has impressed me, but it mostly boils down to their dedication and hard-work. They want "it", and they are willing to get "it". There will be many strong teams next week for us to play. And win or lose, these girls have learned a lot about what it takes to get "it" done.

So proud of them.
