Arches Day Trip

Yellow spotted lizard - anyone know the reference??

As part of Steve's continued birthday present, Chad and his family took us all to Arches National Park for the day.  It was warm and wonderful!

Nolan had a great time.  Here he is trying to eat a rock.  :)

The whole gang!  We did a great job matching - and it wasn't even planned!  Love these people.

Haha!  We look tiny next to the Arch.  But it was an awesome view!

Afterwards we found a spot to eat our lunch, and then "hiked" to Sand Dune Arch.  This was the bulk of the "hike", but the kids had a great time.  The sand was amazingly soft!

We resorted to the shade while the kids played in the sand.

On our way back, I got my way, and we stopped in East Carbon to see if we could see the Big Horn Sheep.  I have been trying to see the sheep for a long time.  Cami and I went up a few months ago because some of my students had seen them, but we could not see them anywhere.  I am positive that we would have missed them again if Chad wasn't with us.  He has an Eagle Eye!  The sheep were the same color as their environment and pretty tricky to see.  I was sooo happy that we got to see them.

On the way home we saw a Sun Dog (it's hard to see in this picture).  But it was a beautiful day.
